babies

Upon observation I have learned that the human ego develops and begins evolving around the age of two.  Not that this is news to any psychologists or parents or really anyone in general other than me but hey, I just noticed.
I wonder if anyone has tried to map the chemical release that starts this unfortunate action.  Perhaps a pill will be created for babies that stops the entire process of “me” “mine”, “I I I”, “I want it all”, “I don’t want to share”, “no no no”.  And would that be possible without collapsing the humanity of the child along with it’s free will?  This whole thought process started with me thinking that people often say that our species is inherently good from birth.  well maybe we are.  maybe for about a year.  but then, around two when the ego develops, the true human character is unleashed and guess what?  For the most part, it’s a horrible, shitty thing that cares about nothing but itself.  Then the parents have to spend the next three (if not 20) years trying to teach the child not to act as its instincts tell it to.  Over and over we are trying like hell to teach ourselves not to be animals.  It’s hilarious.  I’m going to go take a shit in the front yard like an animal.  Go preorder our new album.
